VR Centre has developed a Training and Assessment Hub for Registered Training Organisations, TAFE’s and other educators delivering building and construction courses.
The Training and Assessment Hub is a product tailored to educators in the building and construction industry delivering:
- CPC40110 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building) or
- CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building)
- CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) or
- CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
All of these qualifications require students to undertake the practical demonstration of skills on a building and construction site and have access to a Theodolite and a Optical or Laser level.
The challenge for educators offering these qualifications were:
- the obstacles of the onsite and practical requirements of these qualifications.
This can be challenging for educators that deliver qualifications where students are dispersed far and wide geographically, especially for educators offering their qualifications online nationally.
- The challenge of accessing a Theodolite and a Laser or Optical level for each Student
For RTO’s and TAFE’s with thousands of Students, having access to this volume of tools is very expensive.
In answering these obstacles, VR Centre developed a range of building and construction virtual environments where Students could learn, practice and demonstrate the necessary skills they required in a virtual building and construction environment. Within these virtual building and construction sites, Students can:
- Apply site surveys and set-out procedures to building and construction projects
- Supervise the planning of onsite building and construction work
VR Centre also created a state-of-the-art virtual Theodolite, Laser and Optical level, which operated like it would in the real world. This gave Students the ability to develop the skills required virtually.
